BMW is preparing to launch on the market, albeit in a limited edition, the latest version of the famous M-Class sedan, the BMW M3 CS, which will go into production next March.
The German manufacturer has already released the first images and technical specifications of the new M3, which will be the most powerful, lightest, but also most expensive of the M3 series, and above all designed for those who do not compromise.
The number of units that will be produced has not yet been made official, but BMW says that the idea of doing it in limited series It is to give added value to an extreme product, and at the moment the selling price has not yet been made official.
BMW M3 CS all power and lightness
As per tradition, the German company with its M models always focuses a lot on two fundamental and characterising aspects also in this one BMW M3 CS: the power of the engine and the lightness of the entire car body, without neglecting the aerodynamic component, designed to guarantee maximum performance on the road.

Let's start by power of its six-cylinder in-line engine 3.0 twin turbo S58, which, as per tradition, also equips this new BMW M3 CS, which has been increased in boost pressure, bringing it from 1,7 to 2,1 bar, a very high value considering that it remains a road car. This increase has brought the power from the 510 hp of the previous M3 Competion to the 550 CV of this CS version with 650 Nm of torque. In addition, some components of the engine block have been updated and improved, with forged crankshafts for the cylinder heads and reinforcements made on the connecting rods: all components derived from the experience that the German company has acquired in the field of competitions, and specifically in the DTM championship, which they also won last year, with the M4 GT3 model.
La traction will be integral with xDrive system and Active M differential which will be electrically adjustable so that it can also become a RWD. shock absorbers They are electrically controlled, can be specifically calibrated, and the anti-roll bars have also been modified, making them lighter but also stiffer.
All this stabilizes the road holding even more, especially at high speeds, increasing both stability and precision in travel, given the better response that these improvements bring to the steering and therefore to the handling in travel. The power to the ground is finally discharged thanks to to the 19” tires at the front and 20” at the rear and mounted on a new type of light alloy wheels designed specifically for this model and similar to the famous “666” of the German company.
The weight of the car is 1.776 kg, therefore a slight decrease compared to the previous version, and finally the performance: top speed self-limited a 302 Km/h and acceleration capable of 0-100 km/h in 3,2 seconds.
Carbon as the main element of the new BMW M3 CS
Even on this new BMW, the carbon fiber it always plays the part of the giant, as it is used both on the outside: to create the various aerodynamic appendages and for stylistic reasons thanks to the various appendages designed to create charm both to create the various components of the bodywork, and inside the passenger compartment.

In carbon bodywork It is used for the roof, the mirror caps, the front bonnet panel, the rear wing, the extractor and the splitter and finally to lighten the exhaust, in which titanium was also used.
La BMW M3 CS inherits from the previous M3 Competion version, the M Carbon seatsimplemented with specific and carbon shell ed inserts made with high quality materials, in addition to all the important and valuable interior finishes that complete the charm of this car.
